February 2017

Catholic School’s Week was terrific! To kick off the week, 3rd Graders shared their recent writing pieces about our School Wide Learning Expectations at Catholic Churches in the area.  They shared how they live as faith filled Catholics, work towards being life long learners, and act as community and global ambassadors.  With the help of our wonderful grandparent’s, 3rd grade donated money to three amazing community organizations:  Father Joe’s Village, the San Diego Humane Society, and the Missionary Childhood Association.  Students recognize how blessed they are to be attending Stella Maris Academy and wanted money to go toward others who were less fortunate.  After researching each organization, students discovered the need for clean water in foreign countries, new bedding for animals in nearby shelters, and warm meals for the local homeless. This is just one way 3rd grade is taking action in being community ambassadors!   Just in time for Valentine’s Day as we spread the LOVE!
